Hello!
Hello!
I'm Kira Means, a fourth-year Social Psychology Ph.D. candidate at Purdue University.
My research focuses on the enforcement of social identity boundaries, including who enforces these boundaries, how enforcement occurs, and motivations for enforcement among different groups. I've primarily studied these topics in the context of gender/sex categories, understanding how and why gender/sex is so often categorized strictly and in a binary way, to the detriment of gender/sex minorities. I study these processes at intergroup, intragroup, and structural levels.
